As Şimşek Ambalaj, we are proud to be among the finalists of the Global Sustainability Awards 2026. With our Sustainability Manager being shortlisted in the Future Leader Award category, we are the only company from Türkiye featured on this year’s list. Our company is represented on one of the world’s most prestigious sustainability platforms.

The Global Sustainability Awards recognise organisations and professionals demonstrating leadership, innovation and measurable impact in sustainability. This year’s finalists were selected through an independent evaluation by a panel of 16 senior sustainability leaders from globally recognised organisations, including Google, Schneider Electric, BBC, RELX, Mercer, HubSpot, Suntory Beverage & Food Europe and Molson Coors Beverage Company.

For Şimşek Ambalaj, this recognition represents far more than a place among this year’s finalists.

It is the international recognition of the cumulative impact of years of collective effort, continuous improvement and long-term commitment.

Rather than recognising a single initiative or achievement, this milestone reflects the journey we have built together, embedding sustainability into the way we govern our business, strengthen our operations, support responsible manufacturing and create long-term value. Every improvement, every challenge overcome and every contribution across our organisation has helped shape the capabilities that are recognised today.

The Sustainability Summit 2026, we attended upon invitation by Harvard Business Review to our Sustainability Manager İzel Çalık, was a distinguished event addressing the multifaceted dimensions of sustainable transformation in business.

Throughout the summit, the impact of the climate crisis on business models, sustainable growth as a strategic imperative rather than a choice, and companies’ responsibility to create long-term value were discussed by leading speakers. The insights shared offered a framework shaping not only today but also the next decade of the business world.

This interactive environment, enriched by leaders from various sectors, showed that the sustainability agenda has moved beyond theory into concrete strategies and measurable transformation steps.

By taking part in this gathering, we observed the evolving global approach to sustainability, followed current practices, and enriched our strategic perspective through this flow of knowledge.

We continue to regard sustainability not only as a corporate goal but as a core principle in our business approach, decision-making processes, and long-term value creation.

Discussing the Future of Climate and Sustainability in Milan!

We participated in the 4th World Conference on Climate Change & Sustainability, held on 22–24 October 2025 in Milan, where key topics such as climate action, sustainability, circular economy, biodiversity and the road to net-zero were discussed in depth.

Over the course of three insightful days:

We engaged with academics, policymakers, industry leaders and sustainability professionals from across the globe.

We explored the latest approaches to climate science, transition strategies, carbon management, energy efficiency and sustainable innovation.

We gained valuable insights into methods we can implement within our sector.

This global gathering provided an important opportunity to strengthen our perspective, follow best practices and deepen potential international collaborations on our sustainability journey.

We extend our thanks to all speakers, moderators and the organizing team for making this event truly impactful.

As Şimşek Ambalaj, we had the privilege of attending Sustainability Live at the Business Design Centre – London on 9-10 September.

For us, sustainability is not just an agenda item; it is a core element that shapes the way we operate, the decisions we make, and the future we aspire to build. This event once again reminded us that true transformation is only possible through collective wisdom and collaboration.

We are proud to be part of this journey, and we remain committed to turning our insights into lasting value for both our industry and our planet.

It was truly inspiring to see so many professionals in supply chain and procurement reaffirm that sustainability is not just a trend, but a foundational part of how we do business. Once again, it became clear how essential this approach is for creating long-term value, building resilience, and generating positive impact.

A common theme highlighted in the panel sessions was clear: Sustainability is a team effort. Organization-wide leadership, clear targets, and a shared commitment to progress are at the heart of positive change.

Panelists emphasized that true sustainable transformation is not the job of a single department—it requires collaboration across the entire organization.

Fostering strong supplier relationships, setting clear goals, and co-creating value with customers along sustainability principles not only drives environmental progress, but also strengthens teams and employer branding.

Inspired by this gathering, we are more motivated than ever to keep sustainability at the core of everything we do.

We were delighted to take part in ChangeNOW 2025, one of the world’s largest sustainability events, held on April 24–26 at the iconic Grand Palais in Paris!

As Şimşek Ambalaj, we had the opportunity to present our sustainable packaging solutions and circular economy practices to an international audience of stakeholders.

Throughout the event, we encountered many inspiring initiatives, solutions, and collaborations. It was a powerful reminder of the importance of acting together for the future of our planet.

Witnessing the global recognition of our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint, enhance resource efficiency, and integrate eco-friendly materials into our production processes was truly motivating.

It was a rewarding experience where we exchanged ideas with sustainability leaders from both our industry and various other sectors, and planted the seeds for promising future collaborations.

As Şimşek Ambalaj, we had the opportunity to closely follow the most significant developments shaping the future of various industries, including the packaging sector, at the Sustainability Expo 2025 in London.

As Şimşek Ambalaj, we had a full day listening to inspiring speeches and meeting with important participants from other sectors at the Sustainable Brands Turkey Meeting, which we attended with the invitation of the Sustainability Academy. We improved our awareness of sustainability, gained new ideas and had the opportunity to listen to international speakers.

At this important event, we once again strengthened our goal of developing environmental friendly solutions. We were inspired by important practices and innovative approaches that support our vision of leaving a cleaner, greener and more sustainable world to the future. We look forward to reflecting all the knowledge and experience we gained at the Sustainable Brands Türkiye 12th Anniversary Meeting into our business.
